I was wondering if anybody else has tried using an Electric Imp for wireless connections as it features an even smaller footprint than the WiFly module. The Imp is a full microcontroller that comes in the shape of an SD Card and connects to a wifi network through an ingenious mobile app that programs through a pattern of blinking lights. All that said, there have been some (very valid IMHO) concerns raised about the IDE and other aspects of the design, (many of which can be read on the Sparkfun product page comments) so I certainly wouldn't recommend replacing the ATmega32u4 architecture already powering the Visualight. I actually prefer the WiFly to be honest, as I already have a lot of XBee compatible hardware. But it'll still be another week until my WiFly gets here and do have an Imp lying around so I figured I'd test it out.
